This project included the addition of a new left and right wing to an existing cottage interconnected by a large rear verandah running the full width of the house.

The additions included a master bedroom with ensuite, a 2nd bedroom, office/study, living area and double garage with concrete driveway. The kitchen was also completely renovated and ducted air conditioning installed throughout.

A 100,000L swimming pool, with bluestone tile paving and cabana complete with bathroom, kitchen and entertainment area was also added to the rear of the property.

This was a large block and a large project which meant that transporting materials was more time consuming than on smaller sites. To deal with this the company purchased a Cormidi 600 diesel transporter, with a hydraulically operated bucket capable of moving loads of up to 600kg and then lifting those loads to the height of a truck tray for easy tipping. The outlay for this piece of machinery was $13,000.00 but it saved an enormous amount of time transporting materials and rubbish around the site.

Construction was hampered by unusually high rainfall during the construction period which delayed the job and created some difficult working conditions, particularly the surrounding excavated areas.

The final result is an entertainer’s paradise incorporating a large swimming pool, entertainment area, cabana complete with cooking facilities and lush green lawn with plenty of area for those social ball games.
